The accession includes a daily log of a vessel. The front of the volume includes an official daily log book of the U.S. Army Transport Ship LT 581 during a cruise from New York to the southwestern Pacific during the period December 20, 1944 to December 10, 1945. The log includes an hourly log of temperature and pressures and remarks of the watch. The back of the same volume includes the daily log book of the Scripps Institution of Oceanography research vessel Spencer F. Baird between the dates of April 18 and August 16, 1948.
